• Debris, food particles, or mineral buildup blocking the door latch area
• Worn or damaged door gasket preventing proper door closure detection
• Loose or corroded electrical connections at the door sensor
• Control board failure affecting door sensor signal recognition
• Door frame is bent or misaligned due to physical impact or wear
• Moisture or condensation affecting the door sensor electronics

• Turn off the circuit breaker supplying power to your Miele oven for 60 seconds, then turn it back on to reset the appliance
• Visually inspect the oven door to ensure it is completely closed and fully seated in the frame
• Open the oven door slowly and look for any visible debris, food particles, or buildup around the door latch mechanism and clean gently with a dry cloth
• Examine the door gasket (rubber seal) around all edges for visible cracks, tears, or separation from the door frame
• Ensure the oven door opens and closes smoothly without resistance or sticking
• Check that your circuit breaker has not tripped; if it has, reset it and attempt to use the oven again
• Allow the oven to cool completely if it was recently in use before attempting troubleshooting
• Verify proper ventilation around the oven and range is not blocked, as poor airflow can trigger sensor errors
• Close the oven door firmly and listen for a distinct clicking sound indicating the latch is engaging properly
