Miele Oven & Range Error Code Err 48

• Oven fails to heat or heats inconsistently
• Unable to set or maintain desired temperature
• Heating elements not responding to control inputs
• Error code displayed on digital control panel
• Oven may shut off during cooking cycle
• Unable to start cooking functions despite proper settings
• Possible clicking or relay sounds from control panel area

• Loose or damaged power connection to heating elements (240V circuit on ranges)
• Faulty temperature sensor (RTD or thermistor) in oven cavity
• Internal control board malfunction or failed relay
• Broken wiring harness between control panel and heating elements
• Tripped 240V circuit breaker or blown thermal fuse in USA electrical standard setup
• Poor electrical contact at terminal connections
• Failed heating element with broken circuit
• Defective door latch switch preventing proper oven detection

• Check the 240V circuit breaker dedicated to your oven/range at the main electrical panel and reset if tripped
• Verify the oven door closes completely and securely with an audible click
• Inspect visible power cord connections at the back of the appliance for loose or corroded terminals (do not touch while plugged in)
• Ensure the appliance has proper ventilation with at least 6 inches clearance on sides and rear
• Turn off the oven and allow it to cool completely for 30+ minutes
• Perform a soft reset by turning off the dedicated circuit breaker for 60 seconds, then switch back on
• Check that the control panel displays are functioning and all buttons respond to touch
• Verify you are not in a special cooking mode or lock feature that might be activated
• If error persists, contact a Miele-authorized service technician as internal component replacement may be required
