• Verify the machine is plugged into a working 120V outlet and the outlet itself functions by testing with another appliance
• Power off the machine completely by turning the main switch to OFF and unplugging from the wall outlet
• Wait 60 seconds, then plug the machine back in and turn it on to perform a full reset
• Check that the water tank is completely filled with fresh, cold water and press it firmly into place until you hear or feel it click or seat completely
• Remove the water tank, inspect the contact points inside the machine and on the tank for dirt or mineral deposits, and clean with a soft, damp cloth
• Empty the drip tray and used grounds container to ensure no blockages are restricting water flow
• Visually inspect the brew unit (the removable group at the top) to confirm it is properly installed and fully clicked into position
• Check the coffee bean hopper for any blockages, clumped beans, or foreign objects that might prevent grinding and water circulation
• Run a full descaling cycle using Miele-approved descaling solution diluted according to manufacturer instructions to remove mineral buildup
• Fill the water tank with fresh water and run several brew cycles without coffee to flush the system of any remaining descaling solution
• Listen for any unusual sounds during operation that might indicate air in the water lines
